Named for its intended use, the K2 Excavator specializes in digging deep trenches on groomers and displacing powder after a storm cycle.

Built around a wider perimeter, with a dual radius sidecut, the Excavator is unisex in approach. The Excavator’s wider profile allows riders to size down around 5cm from their usual length without sacrificing performance, and it’s extra width and 20mm taper benefits riders with larger feet, reducing toe drag on deep carves and long traverses.

A combination of a smooth-flexing S1 core and tail to tail ICG 10 Biax Glass keeps the Excavator responsive and damp underfoot. We’ve also added our pre-cambered Carbon Power Forks to allow for an energy boost in and out of turns and those spontaneous “Slow Sign” ollies. The Excavator is packed with tech to keep you playful and floaty when powder is on the forecast.

• A tapered directional snowboard features a shape where the tail is narrower than the nose, providing enhanced control and stability in deeper snow. This design improves floatation in powder and allows for smoother turns, making it ideal for freeride and backcountry riding. 
• Directional Camber incorporates rocker in the nose, enhancing float in powder while preserving the responsiveness and stability of traditional camber.

• Inserts: The Channel

  The Burton Channel forgoes the traditional mounting system and introduces a channel for your front and rear inserts. This allows you to fine-tune your stance width and gives you more freedom in your stance location. The Channel is compatible with most major binding brands, but works best with Burton EST bindings.

• Laminate: 45° Carbon Highlights:

  The 45° Carbon Highlights is a tip-to-tail carbon layer that cuts down on weight while incorporating 45° angled fibers. This design enhances the board's torsional flex, delivering a more aggressive and responsive ride.

• The Super Fly II 700G Core combines stronger, lighter woods in key areas, boosting pop and strength while reducing weight for a more responsive ride.
• Dualzone EGD aligns the wood grain along the heel and toe edges in two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the core. This setup ensures superior edge hold and strength, delivering a more consistent and stable ride.
• Squeezebox blends thicker, more powerful sections with thinner, more flexible ones throughout the core. This profile improves energy transfer, making the board snappier and enhancing its stability.
• Edge: Frostbite Edges
  Frostbite Edges extend slightly under your bindings, providing extra edge hold on hardpack and ice for superior control and stability in challenging conditions.
• The Sintered WFO base—short for Wide F!#@ing Open—features a high-density, extra absorbent material infused with a special wax. This creates a durable, fast base that handles all conditions with ease.
